The Wiltshire Music Centre’s contemporary building contains nine flexible spaces suitable for a range of training, meetings, seminars and conferences. It is easily accessible by road and rail, has free parking adjacent to the Centre and also has a beautiful and relaxing rural outlook. Recent users include Wessex Water, Wiltshire and Avon NHS Trust and Wiltshire County Council.

To hire the Wiltshire Music Centre, or to find out more about our facilities and hire rates, email Susie Fry or call 01225 860 110.

As a charitable trust, the income earned from letting spaces is used to support the education work we do throughout Wiltshire, benefitting thousands of young lives.

Auditorium
Our concert hall is the only purpose-built facility of its type and scale within 50 miles. The auditorium has 300 comfortable raked seats which all have good visibility. The acoustic is bright and perfectly suited to all types of acoustic music or voice. A PA is available for hire to reinforce the spoken word for presentations and conferences. Adjustable acoustic panels fitted to the walls of the hall give potential to adapt the resonance as required.

If your event has technical requirements please discuss these with us when planning.

Henry Smart and Nestle Rooms
These two backstage rooms are suitable for larger meetings or training sessions and can accommodate between 30 and 50 people. The Nestle Room has triple insulation suitable for electric music and can be linked to the recording studio for sessions.

Top »

Teaching Rooms
The two teaching rooms in the curriculum wing are available for hire for workshops and meetings outside school hours. They are larger than the backstage rooms and can accommodate up to 100 people for receptions – or a small orchestra, band or choir.

Mezzanine
The airy Mezzanine level above the main foyer is perfect for reception drinks before a concert. Up to 30 guests can socialise in private but still feel part of the pre-concert atmosphere. The Mezzanine is also available for small meetings although its open position means that it is not suitable for confidential discussions. Please note that the Mezzanine is not currently accessible by wheelchair.

Studios
We have four studios available for hire. These provide a comfortable environment for one on one meetings, small groups or interviews. Each studio is equipped with a Yamaha upright piano and can also be hired by the hour for instrumental practice (subject to availability).

Recording Studio
The Recording Studio is leased by St Laurence School. Full details on its facilities, as well as opportunities to hire the studio, are available from Nick Bell, 01225 309598.

Catering
The Wiltshire Music Centre has a small kitchen and bar for catering for events. We can accommodate most requirements or recommend outside caterers. Companies and groups are welcome to bring their own caterers for events as part of their hire.

Hiring the Centre for Concerts
The Centre’s concert series combines our own presentations with outside hires and all events are planned in line with our artistic policy. This ensures that there is a wide variety of musical traditions across the series, as well as a balance of professional, community and student performers (allocated approximately a third of the available dates each).

Due to its unique set-up, the Centre also has a number of core commitments with groups using the building for rehearsals and concerts, which limits the number of dates available. Concerts are planned between 6 and 24 months in advance.

We are always interested to hear from groups looking to present concerts at the centre. However with more than fifty enquiries for every available date, we regret that we can only respond to a small and select number of proposals.

For more information, please contact Anne Greenwood.
