Volunteer
Over 100 volunteers, over 6,000 hours a year
Over 100 wonderful volunteers work over 6,000 hours a year to
support the running of the Wiltshire Music Centre. With just 7
full-time and 3 part-time staff, we simply couldn't
manage our busy programme without them. We
are truly grateful for all the help that they kindly give.
On concert nights, our volunteers:
- greet people at the door
- look after the artists backstage
- serve in the bar or sell programmes or ice cream
- help run the box office
- or one of many other important tasks!
Volunteers also help at conferences, stuffing envelopes and
distributing flyers, and enjoy special social events during the
year as a thank you for all invaluable help they give.
Join our team, and make new friends too - even small amounts of
time make a real difference. Find out more about how you
could get involved - email Rebecca Perkins or call her on 01225

What our volunteers say….
'The Centre is a place to be proud of and there's always
something different to do. Many people come to volunteer by
themselves and there are a lot of ex-professional people which
makes an interesting mix. The relationships between people are
really good and it is great fun.'
'I believe in education and in what the Centre gives to our
community. I thought it was important to support it because I'm
local. I organise the stuffing of the brochure mailings. It's a big
job but fun and it's good to see how much faster we can get each
season.'
'I became a volunteer three years ago because I wanted to help
at the Music Centre. It is such an incredible facility for the
community. I also get to hear lots of concerts that I wouldn't
necessarily buy tickets for, but then the fantastic music is a
great surprise. I don't tend to go to concerts elsewhere - why
would I now that we have the Centre?'
'A big concert with lots going on can be a real challenge but
the other volunteers, and the staff, are a joy to work with. It is
like a family and it is so nice to be part of.'
