In your community

The Centre is proud to be a hub for community activity, and also to take projects and activities out into the communities of Wiltshire and Swindon. We always strive to increase the number and range of people who get involved with the Centre, and aim to transform lives through high-quality music making opportunities. Making music encourages creativity, helps develop skills and self esteem and, above all, is fun, improving the quality of life in your community.

A busy Centre all week long!

Open and busy for 80 hours each week, the Wiltshire Music Centre is a well used space!  At any time you might find:

  • the stage packed with young players taking part in a West Wiltshire Young Musicians' rehearsal
  • 7 to 18 year olds in a steel pan workshop
  • budding jazz stars aged from 8 to 80 learning improvisation skills from experienced players at Jazz Factory
  • toddlers arriving with a parent for their Doh-A-Deer music session
  • the highly talented Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Orchestra gathered for a week of intense playing

Find out more about how to get involved in the regular activity at the Centre.

Out in your community

Community projects range from a monthly club for disabled young adults aged 16 to 25, to activities for Black & other minority ethnic communities. Find out more about our current projects through the links on the left.
