Khadijatou Doyneh

Khadijatou Doyneh is a highly gifted singer-songwriter, poet, musician and dancer - proud heir to an African-Caribbean oral storytelling tradition like a modern griot musician.  With her natural and captivating stage presence, she draws inspiration and strength from her African roots, fusing powerful words, colourful landscapes and visuals and catchy rhythmical tracks with African-Caribbean infused patois.  'Sex, Lies and History' is perceptive, humorous and savvy. Delivered with her 6 piece live band Slo'burn (kit drum, percussion, bass, guitar, keyboards, trumpet and vocals) this is a witty, slick and visually striking show.  Both feisty and entertaining, it's performed with great charisma and energy.

A really good evening. The pace and atmosphere developed as the concert proceeded until the final part where everyone in the audience was standing and clapping to the beat. This concert deserves a full house.
