Red Priest

Above: Red Priest's interpretation of Vivaldi.

Bach as you've never heard him before! This extraordinary early music group, celebrated for their creative wit and virtuosity, take the infectious spirit of dance that's infused within many Bach favourites, and give wild, outrageously irreverent, but completely compelling performances. Imaginative interpretations of Bach's third Brandenburg Concerto and his Minuet and Badinerie are mixed in with some of the most sublime adagios ever composed. Including delights from Bach's flute, oboe and violin sonatas, and cello and keyboard suites, the evening culminates in an epic performance of the great Toccata and Fugue in D minor.

Red Priest are a wonder. The talent of those 4 classical musicians is amazing. The concert and the pre concert talk was just fantastic. It was musically brilliant and had the right balance of skilful playing , creative transcription and quirky humour. If they ever get back to BoA get your tickets fast. You will not be disappointed.

This was a really uplifting evening by four outstanding musicians who offer wonderful music, humour with humility (a rare achievement these days!) and leave smiles on people's faces. Certainly an evening at the Music Centre, on a cold Sunday, well 'worth leaving home for'. Red Priest never disappoint with their musical virtuosity that is truly 'in the moment'. A real treat. Don't miss them next time!
