I have avoided WMC for over two years since the Solas concert of 2009, as the sound that night was simply appalling.

Unfortunately, while better for The Shee, it took a long time for it to settle down. I was hearing 4 instruments via the stage monitors and two via the main PA, which seemed very underpowered and certainly too widely spaced, meaning many of the audience must have been in a "hole".

The dominant noise throughout the night? The fiddler (Shona) tapping her feet.

I enjoyed the show because I really like the band. But the sound didn't do them justice.

Competent musicians, but oh dear not a shred of personality between them, come on girls believe in yourselves and stop looking at the floor!
