Oh, what a joyous evening. Live music and a live audience once again. And what music! It was an unforgettable privilege to be there with that orchestra with Roderick Williams and Rowan Pierce. There was such buoyancy, such drama, in the ‘Apollo e Dafne’, and the different shades of instrumental tone colour matching the libretto were so varied and vibrant. Glorious. And the unspeakable richness of the two voices. It was preceded by a wonderful performance by Roderick Williams of ‘Ich habe genug’, opening with a beautifully flowing oboe obligato played by Katharina Spreckelsen.
Thank you so much for that, dear Wiltshire Music Centre.
