A few weeks ago we held our Garden Party in the grounds of Belcombe Court in Bradford on Avon — and what a wonderful evening it turned out to be.

With raffle prizes on display, bar well-stocked and dainty canapés prepared by Fat Fowl Kitchens, we team welcomed over 70 of our Friends, Angels and Supporters into the gorgeous surroundings of this historic house and garden.

The weather was well behaved for the most part, and we loved hearing the sounds of new introductions, old friends catching up, and the delightful music of jazz trio The Easy Peelers (starring our very own Max Stanton who works in our Box Office). There was even an impromptu tour of the garden led by both local historian, Tim Mowl and the owner of the house Paul Weiland. Paul, along with his wife Caroline, generously lent us the use of their outdoor space for the event, even cutting fresh blooms from their garden for our table decorations.

Attendees also had the pleasure of exploring the grounds and its features like the classical Rotunda, Shell House, and Walled Garden, and also to have a go at naming a life size replica of a Zebra, which had been brought along by our sponsors Investec (the Zebra has since been named Johnny). The music continued wherever you wandered, as performers from the West of England Youth Orchestra — Georgia Hally, Indira Pandit and Hester Wiltshire — played in the Summer Houses and  Walled Garden.

The whole evening was a tremendous success and we’re pleased to share that we raised a total of just over £3,300 which includes donations from those who could not make it. Thank you so much to everyone who came or contributed in some way, including our generous raffle prize donors — to see the full list of raffle donors please click here.
