An update from Wiltshire Music Centre about the current situation:

Following the latest guidance from the UK Government, we regret that Wiltshire Music Centre must once again shut its doors and will be closed to the public from Tuesday 5th January until Friday 19th February 2021.

Unfortunately, during this period all regular activities at the Centre are cancelled, the Box Office is closed, and we are unable to welcome audiences, artists and practitioners for concerts or workshops. However, as we have done throughout the pandemic, we will continue to work innovatively and energetically to #KeepMusicAlive in our community through other means.

Our Creative Learning and Community Engagement Programme will continue virtually, supporting the wellbeing of vulnerable and isolated older people through online concerts and creative telephone conversation as part of the Celebrating Age Wiltshire project. We will continue to provide creative and social opportunities for young learning-disabled adults through our monthly Virtual Zone Club sessions. We will also ensure access to high quality musical progression opportunities for young people at this critical time. Over the next six weeks we look forward to delivering online learning opportunities for young people aged 11-21 as part of the Wiltshire Youth Choir, Wiltshire Jazz Academy and Wiltshire Youth Jazz Orchestra.

We are also working with our artists and local partners to ensure that live music performances can resume as soon as possible, and we hope to share news of upcoming livestream concerts soon. You can keep in touch with us via social media (Facebook and Twitter) for the latest information; and join our mailing list to enjoy more news and exclusive content from artists and projects as part of our monthly e-newsletter.

We are especially grateful to everyone who has donated to support us during the pandemic. The continued support of our Friends and Angels, together with ticket donations and support for our Community Fundraising appeal, are making a huge difference to our ability to respond and adapt to these extremely challenging circumstances

Once again on behalf of the whole WMC team, thank you very much for your patience, support and understanding at this difficult time.

Best wishes,

James Slater Interim Chief Executive and Artistic Director
