We are extremely grateful to our audiences, artists, visitiors and volunteers who have helped us to uphold rigorous safety measures at WMC since the pandemic began.

This week the Government announced Step 4 of the roadmap and further unlocking of Covid restrictions from Monday 19th July.

Naturally, we are excited for the opportunity to invite more people to enjoy the thrill of live music at the Centre as soon as possible, and our programme includes a month of Summer Fun activities for children and young people, and an exciting Autumn Winter season of concerts and events. Your safety remains our upmost priority and with this in mind we are pleased to provide the following update to safety measures at WMC.

Until Further Notice

  • Covid Symptoms: if you are experiencing Covid symptoms please do not enter the Centre. Tickets can be exchanged up to 24 hours before performances (£3 administration fee applies)
  • Hand sanitiser will continue to be available for use throughout the venue
  • Enhanced cleaning will remain in place in public and staff spaces
  • Ventilation: we will continue to monitor air quality

Until 27 August

Much of our existing Covid-safety measures will remain in place. These include:

  • Social distancing: 2 metre + social distancing wherever possible in the venue; 1 metre + socially distanced seating in the auditorium
  • Face coverings: all visitors are recommended to wear a face covering when inside the Centre
  • Room capacity guidance will remain in place throughout the venue
  • PPE will continue to be provided for staff and volunteers and there are clear screens at the Box Office
  • LFD testing will continue to be made available to all staff
  • Signing in: it is required that all staff and visitors sign in to support NHS Track and Trace

We will not be enforcing these measures but are encouraging everyone to follow these steps when visiting us as far as possible.

From 28 August

Pending any further updates to Government guidance, we aim to make the following changes

  • Full capacity seating: will become available in the auditorium
  • Face coverings: will continue to be recommended for use inside the venue when there is a large crowd

All other measures will continue to be reviewed on a regular basis.

Thank you for your patience as we take these careful and considered steps towards more normal operations. We are enormously grateful for the support of our friends, angels, supporters and wider community throughout the pandemic and along our journey to recovery
