Clara Schumann was best known in her lifetime as a concert pianist, but her reputation as a composer has grown in recent years and the Piano Trio in G minor is considered one of her finest works. Brahms lived in the Schumann household for many years and had an intimate relationship with Clara Schumann.

Brought together by a shared deep passion for chamber music and inspired by Mathieu’s possession of the “ex-Adolf Busch” G.B. Guadagnini violin (Turin, 1783), the Busch Trio is recognized for playing with “incredible verve” and has developed an extensive performing schedule across Europe’s leading concert halls and festivals.
