The National Youth Jazz Orchestra is a glittering showcase for the UK’s finest young professional jazz musicians, combining a hard-swinging rhythm section and a raft of hugely talented soloists, to bring you the very best in British big-band jazz. In this new ‘State of the Nation’ programme the musicians celebrate the big names flying the flag for British jazz today, from the standards of Ray Noble and Victor Feldman via British bebop pioneers Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott, through Afro-Caribbean influences arriving with the Windrush generation and beyond.
