The Gould Piano Trio, praised in a recent issue of Gramophone magazine for music-making of “energy, clear-sightedness and passion”, gives a pair of performances of a programme encompassing some of the peaks of the piano trio repertoire: Mozart’s genial last trio, the mellifluous Trio by Fauré, the single-movement Notturno by Schubert which forms a pendant to his two great full-length trios, and the sonorous C major Trio of Brahms.
