HOLST The Planets
DOVE Stargazer

The finest young musicians from the South West come together to perform a rich orchestral programme, including a new trombone concerto by Jonathan Dove who celebrates his 60th birthday this year.

Written between 1914-1916 The Planets represents all the known planets of the Solar System seen from Earth at the time, and their corresponding astrological character is represented in each memorable movement.

The Orchestra will be joined by soloist Peter Moore, youngest winner of BBC Young Musician of the Year at only 12 years old, principal Trombone with the London Symphony Orchestra and Professor of Trombone and Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
