Trumpet virtuoso joins leading international string quartet

Programme to include:
HAYDN ARR. JAN LEONTSKY Trumpet Concerto in Eb major Hob. Vlle/1
FAURÉ Le papillon et la fleur
GERSHWIN ARR. MICHAEL THOMAS Three Preludes

Described by BBC Music Magazine as a “trumpeter extraordinaire”,  Matilda Lloyd joins forces with leading international string quartet the Goldmund Quartet, for a programme of solo and chamber works with French romantic melodies, German classical elegance and the distinctive American style of Gershwin with his Three Preludes, specially arranged for trumpet.

Matilda Lloyd is redefining the voice of her instrument on the world stage, celebrated for her flawless tone and dynamic subtlety. Joining forces with the “exquisite playing” (Süddeutsche Zeitung) of Goldmund Quartet from Munich, Matilda will showcase the trumpet’s remarkable range of colours. The programme includes lyrical French romantic melodies, German classical elegance and the vitality of Gershwin’s Three Preludes for trumpet.

Lloyd plays with intense expression and immense warmth
