Discover great local music in our relaxed bar setting

The Bradford Roots Sessions are back with an exciting line-up of live local music for you to enjoy. With grass roots venues across the country closing or under threat, we’re delighted to provide a platform to showcase local talent, in our laid-back bar.

On Friday 19 April,  Billy in the Lowground, Daisy Chapman and Thieves all take the stage. Find out more about them below.

ABOUT TONIGHT’S ACTS

BILLY IN THE LOWGROUND

Although they’re often compared with the Levellers, the Waterboys and the Pogues,  Billy in the Lowground have an authentic tone that’s all their own.

Based  in Broughton Gifford, these veteran purveyors of original West Country Rock with a twist of folk-Americana have been playing together since 1991. They’re experienced performers who’ve appeared at just about every festival – including Bradford Roots.

DAISY CHAPMAN

Daisy Chapman is a Trowbridge-based pianist and singer with international acclaim. Using a vocal looper to add choirs to her rich and cinematic music, Daisy has a voice that soars to the back of the room, whilst her piano sweeps beneath the melodies to almost epic proportions. Expect haunting harmonies and toe tapping rhythms.

THIEVES

This acoustic country and folk four piece will delight you with strong vocal harmonies, bluesy guitar and punchy mandolin and promise a blend of original music and authentic covers.

ABOUT BRADFORD ROOTS

Bradford Roots – the sessions and the annual Winter festival in January – celebrates the best the town has to offer, including local music and an inclusive atmosphere where audiences can listen to fantastic performers  and enjoy drinks from local providers in a relaxed atmosphere.
