The Brodsky Quartet bring their storytelling flair back to the WMC stage with a programme celebrating Vienna

SCHUBERT Quartettsatz in C minor D703
ISIDORA ŽEBELJAN Dark Velvet
HAYDN String Quartet in F sharp minor Op 50 No 4
ANTON VON ZEMLINSKY String Quartet No 2 Op 15

The Brodsky Quartet bring their storytelling flair back to the WMC stage with a programme celebrating the great musical city of Vienna. Alongside masterworks old and new, the programme culminates in Anton von Zemlinsky’s epic String Quartet No 2. Written in a tumultuous year for the composer, the work depicts a stormy, white-knuckle ride from a state of absolute torment and desolation to one of great serenity and peace.
