Trumpeter at the cutting edge of the vibrant London nu-jazz scene

Recently Awarded Jazz FM Instrumentalist of the year 2025, Mark Kavuma is renowned for his unique, distinctive trumpet sound, his lyricism, soulful tone and graceful technique spread infectious joy and mutual excitement among audiences and fellow musicians.

A key player in the London jazz scene, his career highlights include being featured twice with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. He’s also the founder of The Banger Factory, a collective aiming to preserve jazz heritage and showcase emerging talent and which now includes over 20 gifted London jazz artists and which has a regular slot at Ronnie Scott’s called the Late, Late Show.
