For young people with SEND aged 15 – 25 years

Please email inclusiveactivities@wiltshire.gov.uk to book

Are you passionate about music, and want to connect with other young musicians? This fully inclusive and accessible one-day music course will bring together young SEND musicians to collaborate on new ideas and make music together. Open to all instrumentalists and vocalists, the course will feature specialist workshops, as well as plenty of time for open jam sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, try something new, meet new people, and work with our expert Facilitators. There will be an optional performance opportunity at the end of the day for all participants. We’re working in partnership with Inclusive Wiltshire to provide some specialist, tailored, free workshops, fully supported by experienced practitioners and adaptable to participants’ needs, in a comfortable, accessible and welcoming space.

We’re also offering two weeks of free rehearsal space for young musicians throughout the Press Play programme (subject to availability). Email us to inquire and book a slot: creativelearning@wiltshiremusic.org.uk.

About the music leaders: Samantha Lindo and Will Lawton

Samantha Lindo is a British-Jamaican singer-songwriter, composer and creative facilitator whose music blends jazz, soul, folk and spoken word. Her work has been championed by Gilles Peterson and Jamie Cullum, and she regularly leads songwriting projects with young people, creating welcoming spaces for creativity, collaboration and experimentation.

Will Lawton is a Wiltshire-based singer-songwriter, music psychotherapist and workshop leader. He has led songwriting projects with schools, community groups, the NHS and arts organisations, helping people of all ages use songwriting as a powerful creative and expressive tool. His supportive approach encourages participants to discover their own unique musical voice.
