Every year Wiltshire Music Centre aim to work with schools to deliver high quality interactive workshops and events for local young people linked to the school curriculum. Wiltshire Music Centre design and facilitate events that visit schools as well as encouraging school groups to come and visit us in Bradford on Avon.

Visits to Wiltshire Music Centre

Annually Wiltshire Music Centre welcomes approximately 40 First Year BTEC music students from Bath College. These students are given the opportunity to work with our staff at Wiltshire Music Centre for a day of workshops and talks about different aspects of the work we do. The students involved are also given the opportunity to develop their own ideas for projects with guidance from our staff and present their ideas panel of "WMC Dragons". It is a wonderful opportunity for Music Students to gain valuable insight into how a professional venue is run and the wide range of roles that are necessary to deliver our busy programme of events.

Kakatsitsi Visit Schools

In October Wiltshire Music Centre worked with Ghanaian Master Drummers Kakatsitsi to bring the energy and vibrancy of Ghana to schools across the county. Over one week more than 500 local young people from KS1 & KS2 were able to experience drumming, dancing and singing both through vibrant performances and incredible, energetic workshops. We had a great time with Kakatsitsi, their energy was infectious throughout the week and it was wonderful to see students welcoming the group and engaging so actively with the workshops.
