June 2026

We are very excited to be partnering in June 2026 with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for a performance of their community opera, The Fairy Queen: Three Wishes, and we’re looking for singers to be part of the on-stage choir!

The Fairy Queen is throwing a huge party. Big. Huge. You’re invited.

Welcome to The Magical Forest. As you make your way through it you’ll soon discover that the journey to The Fairy Queen’s Party is not a straightforward path. Strange things happen all around as sprites and pixies enchant and trick, but the only real obstacle is ourselves.

Composer James Redwood and writer Hazel Gould transform Henry Purcell’s Shakespeare-inspired 1692 opera into a magical new adventure for the whole family. This reimagining of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen is about wishes that come true, and what happens when they do, as we learn about friendship, love and telling the truth…

This is a really exciting opportunity to be part of a fantastic and uplifting community production, led by outstanding OAE professionals and performed on stage in our world-class auditorium. The performance will feature OAE musicians and opera singers, a community choir, a primary school choir and a secondary school band. As part of the community choir, you will participate in advance rehearsals led by WMC Chorus director Mike Daniels as well as a rehearsal the day before the performance led by OAE artists.

Read the FAQ section below for full project details.
