Witty scottish folk duo lift the stage with skillful sounds

They’ve toured the world together since 1986, playing to packed concert halls, entertaining audiences with their witty banter and authentic Scottish folk music. In fact, fiddle player Aly Bain and accordion player Phil Cunningham are so accomplished, that they’ve not only won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Duo Award, but they’ve also been nominated in the Scottish Traditional Music Awards for ‘Live Act of the Year’.

Aly is a founder member of the Boys of the Lough and he’s also played fiddle on recordings by the likes of Eddi Reader, while Phil has been named as one of Scotland’s 25 most influential people; his musical mastery has led to him working with the likes of Mark Knopfler, James Taylor, Rosanne Cash and Midge Ure. Together Aly and Phil create some of the most joyous yet heart-wrenching sounds around.

Simply the best traditional musicians you are ever likely to hear
