Tenebrae’s 25th anniversary programme combines brand new music with works from around the world which hold special significance for the choir. Representing Tenebrae’s evolution over the past 25 years, ‘The Journey’ features music from some of the choir’s best-loved recordings, including Russian Treasures and Brahms & Bruckner Motets, as well as Poulenc’s virtuosic Figure Humaine.

Tenebrae has always championed living composers, and to commemorate this anniversary season it has commissioned new works from Joby Talbot and Joanna Marsh, both of whom have longstanding relationships with the ensemble, and from the American composer Jason Max Ferdinand. The programme will also feature the winning entry to Undiscovered Voices, Tenebrae’s inaugural composition competition for emerging talent.

For purity and precision of tone, and flawless intonation, Nigel Short’s chamber choir Tenebrae is pretty much unbeatable.
