Rosa Corbishley has been appointed Interim Chair of Wiltshire Music Centre
Wiltshire Music Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Rosa Corbishley as Interim Chair, following the departure of James Wetz in December. Rosa takes up the position, having previously been Vice Chair of the organisation since 2020.
Rosa has a wealth of experience in the arts and culture sector and a strong track record in leadership, fundraising and marketing. She currently works as Executive Director at Wiltshire Creative as joint CEO, alongside Artistic Director Gareth Machin. She has held senior leadership positions across several major cultural organisations in both the UK and Australia, including Bristol Beacon, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Salisbury Festival, Royal Northern Collage of Music, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and others. At Bristol Beacon she spearheaded the fundraising for the £132 million capital transformation of the venue and was instrumental in some of their most celebrated events, including the Immersive Care Home concert with the Aurora Orchestra and a livestreamed performance of the London Symphony Orchestra to 17,000 care homes during the pandemic.
Rosa Corbishley said, “I’m very proud to be Wiltshire Music Centre’s Interim Chair and I look forward to supporting the trustees and our talented new executives, Sarah and Daniel, on finding the next Chair who will play a pivotal role in driving forward the charity’s innovative and ambitious plans. Please do get in touch directly if you’d like a conversation.”
Sarah Robertson said, “We’re delighted that Rosa has taken on the role of Interim Chair while we search for James’s successor. Her deep knowledge of the organisation and the industry remain hugely invaluable to us as we continue to build on the Centre’s fantastic heritage and make bold steps towards our vision for the future; a vision where our music, Creative Learning and Community programmes are supercharged – exciting, relevant and reflecting the needs of the community, artists and audiences.”
Wiltshire Music Centre is currently going through an exciting period of change and growth, with new music and artistic changes, and plans to firmly establish the Centre at the heart of music and music-making in the community, Wiltshire and beyond. The process of recruitment for a new Chair will commence in the coming weeks.
