Director of Development (maternity cover, 12-months)

£40k p.a. pro-rata (depending on experience) starting mid-November

Wiltshire Music Centre is offering an exceptional opportunity to join its small and vibrant team as Director of Development (DD) to cover the current incumbent’s maternity leave, due to commence in December 2021. This role requires an efficient, highly motivated and tactful individual with significant experience of fundraising in the arts / charitable sector, business development, as well as a passion for working with people and excellent organisational skills.

The role is responsible for leading a team of three, consisting of Trusts & Foundations Manager, Fundraising Coordinator and Marketing & Development Intern. The DD is responsible for devising and overseeing WMC’s fundraising function as well as leading on the income generation strategy. This role is pivotal in driving new business and income streams and securing the development of both contributed and earned income.

The role has overall responsibility for delivering the Centre’s fundraising and development strategy to secure gifts from individuals, trusts and foundations, and businesses to support the Centre’s core artistic and Creative Learning Programmes.

Work Experience

We are pleased to offer one-off and regular weekly work experience placements for young people seeking to gain an understanding of arts management – including programming and events coordination, marketing and fundraising, lighting and sound production and customer service.
