Wiltshire Jazz Academy, formerly known as Saturday Jazz, are monthly sessions for developing young jazz musicians led by Mike Daniels and visiting tutors from the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
With opportunities to develop in a friendly environment led by experienced jazz musicians, these sessions are perfect for young players to explore performance techniques, sharpen improvisation skills and learn about a world of jazz music. Wiltshire Jazz Academy players receive a number of performance opportunities at WMC and, through the programme, will be introduced to new ensembles to continue their progression.
Wiltshire Jazz Academy welcomes players aged 11-18 at Grade 4 (or equivalent) standard and above. You do not need to have experience in performing jazz music to join.
Our next session will be taking place as part of our Spring jazz course on Saturday 17 April, 10am - 12pm.
Further sessions this term will take place on 8 May, 12 June and 10 July.
Open to all young jazz musicians aged 11-18 at Grade 4 (or equivalent) standard and above.
Wiltshire Music Centre is a National Youth Jazz Orchestra Regional Academy. Wiltshire Youth Jazz Academy is a National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) Regional Academy Partner.
