We produce a new Season brochure twice a year; for the Spring Summer and Autumn Winter. If you’d like to receive a copy of the brochure in the post, write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also stay up to date with what’s on via e-news.
Booking is open now for the new season, which opens with a sensational night of jazz cabaret by leading ladies Claire Martin and Nikki Iles (16 Oct). WMC’s Orchestra in Residence, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment return for two diverse programmes, accompanied by leading British baritone Roderick Williams (28 Oct) and forte pianist Steven Devine (25 Nov). International pianist Tom Poster also returns to present a mini chamber festival with his all-star chamber ensemble, the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective (10-11 Nov).
The Centre’s support for young and emerging artists continues this season with lunchtime concerts by Gramophone Young Artist of the year Iyad Sughayer (21 Oct) and virtuoso pianist Cordelia Williams (9 Dec). Bellowhead star Sam Sweeney also returns with his folk supergroup Leveret present an exclusive performance of music from their new album (20 Nov).
Having recently transformed its recording studio into a new state-of-the-art broadcast suite, WMC will be livestreaming concerts by every visiting artist this season to enable audiences to watch from home.
“We are very proud to be able to present a mini season of live and online events in the coming months, and the opportunity to ‘get back to normal’ by inviting some of our regular artists to perform again on the WMC stage feels very special. The transformational impact of our new live stream broadcast capabilities is very exciting and we will make sure that the online experience is as rich and interactive as the live one.”
- James Slater, Artistic Director
Virtual audiences can look forward to exclusive backstage content and Q&A sessions with the artists. Audiences attending concerts in person at the venue can expect the warmth and charm that is synonymous with this vibrant community centre, plus a range of new measures to ensure your safety. There will be limited seated capacity in the auditorium to allow for social distancing. Each performance will last 60 minutes with no interval and audiences are asked to wear a mask whenever possible in the building.
